Looking for a job in North America but don't live here?
Wonsulting is actually filled with international team members! We’re from all over the world and we have someone from almost every continent.
We know that one of the best things you can do is proactively create a network in North America before you land.
So here are a few ways to connect with professionals on this side of the world via virtual meetings.
Find someone on LinkedIn who might manage the role you're interested in.
For example, if you're trying to become a marketing associate in the USA, look for US based marketing managers.
Send them a connection request on LinkedIn with a note like this:
Hi (name),
I noticed you work at (company name) as a (title). I’m looking to follow a career path similar to yours, and I was wondering if I could ask you for some career advice in a brief 15-minute call.
This is effective because:
✅ Your message is nice and tailored
✅ You’re asking for advice, not a job, so they're more inclined to help
✅ Many professionals can spare 15 minutes
Once on the call, ask really good questions. And if you make a good impression, it'll probably lead to a referral.
Find a job posting you want to apply to.
Open the company's website on one tab and try to find the hiring manager on another (that'll require a bit of guesswork).
In another tab, open up the email-finding tool “Voila Nobert.” Enter the company's URL and the hiring manager's first and last name.
Wait for the magic, and you'll get their email address 🪄
Then use this template in your email:
"Hi (name),
I noticed you're hiring for a (insert job title).
Give my international experience with the following I think I'd be a great fit for the role:
(Insert three bullets of relevant experiences you have)
If you're ok with it, is there any chance I could ask you a little about the role in a brief 15 min Zoom?
No pressure if now isn't the best time.
Thanks!
(sign off with your signature, contact info, etc.)
This approach will work 1/4 times (if you're good).

We just had our first ever Wonsulting Sell-Off! 🥳
It was a fun event where our team members had to make sales pitches for hilariously useless items 😅
And the person with the best presentation won a hefty plane ticket to anywhere they wanted to go!
Here is what some of our teammates had to pitch:
Fernando - Single Christmas light
Alif - Defunct remote control
Mark - Bubble wrap
Sam - A cork
Sher Ree - Burnt out light bulb
The winner was …🥁
Fernando!
He sold our three judges on a single Christmas light that would help with work life balance.
How?
It’s a smart light linked to a mobile app where you can set your desired work-life balance. The light will change colors to remind you when it's time to concentrate, take a break, or finish work for the day.
It uses precious stones like selenite, amethyst, and shungite to create a calm and serene home office environment.
Now you want one, right?! 😂
(Just ask Fernando for one on LinkedIn 👀)
Our team is fully remote and mostly international, so events like these help us have fun together and get to know one another.
If you had to pitch a weird item, what would it be?

The creator economy has embraced globalization.
And you can too!
It’s expected to nearly double in market size by 2027.
Some analysts even say it's grown to $480 billion (currently valued at $230 billion).
Just this year alone, it's expected that brands will spend a total of $6 billion collectively - so why not try to grab some of that for yourself? 😉
But how can you jump into the creator economy if you're considering a career change?
If you specialize in an in demand skill, you can market yourself as a freelancer for creators.

Our founders, Jonathan and Jerry, are also part of the creator economy.
They’ve built a company around helping people solve their employment problems through social media.
Along the way, they hired many people to help them grow their business, and it evolved into helping job seekers in all sorts of ways!
So if you’re thinking about getting involved in this industry, just look into these related roles:
Creating and growing brands requires a dedicated team of engineers, designers, and product managers who work together to manage the wide range of tools used by creators. They aim to support and empower these creators in their brand-building journey.
As creators focus on their creative work, they often require someone with business expertise to help manage their business affairs. If you're intrigued by this idea, we highly recommend watching the interview with Mr. Beast's manager, as it sheds light on the role of business management in the world of content creation.
Being a creator is all about unleashing creativity, but sometimes juggling tasks like managing social media, email lists, events, and emails can be a bit overwhelming. That's when the invaluable support of video editors, writers, and podcast producers comes in, helping creators bring their vision to life while easing the burden of these additional responsibilities.
So what do you think?
Can you see yourself working in the creator economy?
