Holidays are important to us - and it’s also important for those on their job search.

Why? Because it’s an easy way to connect with people who have helped you throughout your career or to catch up.

‍

Every year, I send a thank you email to those who have helped me throughout my career during the Thanksgiving season.

‍

This is an easy way to do the following:

‍

💡Rapport builder: By sending a thank you email, you’re showing gratitude to those who have helped you in the past or who are helping now with your job search

‍

💡Conversation starter: It helps you connect back with those who have helped you and engage in potential conversation, leading to a coffee chat or even referral

‍

💡Ask for help: By reconnecting, you can update your connections on your job search and “ask for help”; the ask for help can lead to potential referrals or job opportunities

‍

How do you structure your Reachouts? You can make them as simple as this (and you can use my template below!)

‍

Send an email like this either on Thanksgiving or the day after, and see how many people respond. You’ll notice that it’s an easy way to reconnect with those who have helped to build rapport, start a conversation and how you can ask for help.
